چکیده
We propose to perform amplitude estimation with the help of constant-depth quantum circuits that variationally approximate states during amplification. In context Monte Carlo (MC) integration, we numerically show shallow can accurately many amplification steps. combine variational approach maximum likelihood [Y. Suzuki et al., Quantum Inf. Quantum Amplitude Amplification and Estimation
Consider a Boolean function χ : X → {0, 1} that partitions set X between its good and bad elements, where x is good if χ(x) = 1 and bad otherwise. Consider also a quantum algorithm A such that A|0〉 = ∑ x∈X αx|x〉 is a quantum superposition of the elements of X, and let a denote the probability that a good element is produced if A|0〉 is measured. If we repeat the process of running A, measuring t...

Inverse theory teaches us that the residual, or misfit function, should be weighted by the inverse covariance matrix of the noise. Because the covariance operator is often difficult to estimate, we can approximate it with a diagonal weight that can be more easily computed. This paper investigates the possible choices of weighting functions for the data residual when prediction-error filters are...
متن کاملOptimal estimation of quantum processes using incomplete information: variational quantum process tomography
The characterization of a quantum system and its dynamics is a daunting challenge. The first question which arises in this scenario is what information should we possess to characterize the dynamics. To answer this question, one needs to choose a quantum process tomography (QPT) scheme. Each procedure demands different resources and operations. There are four general types of QPT procedures: (i...

Variational autoencoders (VAEs) are powerful generative models with the salient ability to perform inference. Here, we introduce a quantum variational autoencoder (QVAE): a VAE whose latent generative process is implemented as a quantum Boltzmann machine (QBM). We show that our model can be trained end-to-end by maximizing a well-defined loss-function: a “quantum” lowerbound to a variational ap...
متن کاملQuantum Extended Arithmetic Veneziano Amplitude
The Veneziano amplitude for the tree-level scattering of four tachyonic scalar of open string theory has an arithmetic analogue in terms of the p-adic gamma function. We propose a quantum extension of this amplitude using the q-extended p-adic gamma function given by Koblitz. This provides a one parameter deformation of the arithmetic Veneziano amplitude. We also comment on the dificulty in gen...
